Vietnam is currently South Africa’s second largest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with trade between the two countries having grown from R18.4 billion in 2015 to R20.5 billion in 2016. South Africa’s main exports to Vietnam include live animals, vegetables and mineral products while SA’s top imports include machinery, footwear and textiles.
